QC Mugshots: Find the Right Quad Cities Booking, Jail & Court Record
“QC mugshots” usually means recent arrest and booking information in the Quad Cities. There is no single Quad Cities jail database. Davenport and Bettendorf searches normally begin with Scott County, Iowa; Rock Island, Moline and East Moline searches normally begin with Rock Island County, Illinois.
Records Search
Court, Criminal, Marriage, Divorce, Property
Use the county jail source first for current or recent custody. Then use the appropriate court system for filed charges, hearings and disposition. A mugshot or booking entry records an arrest or custody event; it does not prove guilt.
Quick answer: where should you search QC mugshots first?
Davenport or Bettendorf arrest
Start with the official Scott County Sheriff inmate listing. It covers people currently in Scott County Jail custody and people released within the last seven days. Scott County states that the roster updates every ten minutes and excludes federal prisoners or detainees.
Scott County Inmate ListingRock Island, Moline or East Moline arrest
Start with the Rock Island County Sheriff’s official Inmate Listings route. The Sheriff states that the Rock Island County Correctional Center provides central booking for arrestees in the county and uses computerized mug-shot and fingerprint systems.
Rock Island County Inmate ListingsInitial jail charges can be amended, dismissed or replaced after review. Use the court record when you need the filed case, next hearing or final disposition.
Before you search: keep these details ready
A name alone is often not enough. Preparing a few identifiers reduces the chance of matching the wrong person and makes it easier to move from jail records to court records.

- Correct first and last name
- Possible alternate spelling
- Middle name or initial if known
- Age or date of birth if available
Event details
- Approximate arrest or booking date
- City where the arrest occurred
- Arresting or committing agency
- Approximate charge or incident type
Best identifiers
- Booking number
- Case number
- Report number
- Inmate or state corrections ID

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Davenport | Iowa | Scott County | Scott County Sheriff inmate listing | Iowa Courts Online / Scott County District Court |
| Bettendorf | Iowa | Scott County | Scott County Sheriff inmate listing | Iowa Courts Online / Scott County District Court |

For arrests in other QC-area communities, identify the actual arrest county before choosing a sheriff, jail or court system.
Choose the record source by the question you need answered
| You need to know | Best starting source | Useful information | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|---|
| Is the person in jail now? | County inmate listing | Current custody, booking information, charges, release status when shown | Final guilt or final court outcome |
| Was the person booked recently? | County jail roster / booking reports | Booking date, committing agency, custody status | Complete criminal history |
| What did police report? | Arresting agency records unit / FOIA or public-record request | Incident or arrest-report information subject to disclosure rules | Final court disposition |
| What charges were actually filed? | Court docket | Case number, filed charges, hearing dates, docket events | Every police investigative record |
| Was the person convicted? | Court record | Disposition, judgment and sentencing information when public | Current county jail status |
| Did the person move to state prison? | Iowa DOC or Illinois IDOC offender search | State corrections custody/status information | County jail bookings that never became state sentences |
| Is there an active Scott County warrant? | Scott County warrant search | Possibly active county-held warrants within the site’s stated coverage | Guaranteed current validity; law enforcement must confirm a warrant |
QC recent arrests: last 24 hours, 3 days, 7 days and older
Recent-arrest searches fail most often because the user searches the wrong time window or assumes that a current-jail page is a permanent archive.
| Search window | Iowa side | Illinois side | If the record is missing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Today / last 24 hours | Scott County inmate listing and daily booking report | Rock Island County inmate listings | Recheck later if intake is still being processed; confirm the arresting agency. |
| Last 3 days | Scott County inmate listing | Rock Island County inmate listings plus court search if a case is filed | Try alternate spelling and compare the committing agency. |
| Last 7 days | Scott County specifically includes current inmates and people released within seven days | Use county inmate listings and Circuit Clerk case search | If released, the court docket may be more useful than the jail page. |
| Older than 7 days | Iowa Courts Online, arresting agency records, Iowa DCI if statewide history is needed | Rock Island Circuit Clerk, local police FOIA, Illinois State Police or IDOC when applicable | Do not expect a current jail roster to act as a long-term archive. |
How to search QC mugshots and booking records step by step
- Identify the city and state.Determine whether the incident was on the Iowa side or Illinois side. For an outlying QC community, identify its county before searching.
- Open the official county inmate source.Use Scott County for Davenport/Bettendorf or Rock Island County for Rock Island/Moline/East Moline. Avoid treating a media gallery or reposted mugshot site as the custody authority.
- Start with the least restrictive name search. If a full name returns nothing, try the last name, first initial or alternate spelling. Do not assume one failed search proves no booking exists.
- Compare multiple identifiers.Check booking date, age or date of birth when available, committing agency, charge wording and custody status before deciding that a result is the right person.
- Save the booking and case details.Write down the booking number, case number, agency, booking date and charge wording. These details make court and records searches much easier.
- Check the court docket.Use Iowa Courts Online for Scott County cases or the Rock Island County Circuit Clerk for Illinois-side cases. Court records are the better source for filed charges and case outcome.
- Use the arresting agency for the report. If you need the actual police or incident report, contact the agency that created it. A jail entry is not the complete investigative record.
Iowa-side QC mugshots: Scott County booking and jail records
The Scott County inmate listing is unusually useful for a recent-arrest search because it provides daily booking reports and states exactly how long released people remain visible. It also links individual inmate records to bond information, charge information, VINE notification, commissary and visitation resources when available.
Current custody + releases within seven days
Scott County says its public roster lists people currently in custody and people released within the last seven days. Federal inmates are not included, and the county warns that the roster is not a comprehensive list of everyone being held.
County states a 10-minute update cycle
The Sheriff’s inmate FAQ says the listing updates every ten minutes. Even with frequent updates, custody and court status can change, so recheck the official source before acting on the information.
What a Scott County inmate detail page may show
Booking data
Booking date/time, booking number, housing/custody details and release information when available.
Charge data
Case number, charge description, offense date and other fields when the record contains them.
Bond / hold data
Bond type, amount, status and detainer information when applicable. A displayed bond amount can change after court review.
Scott County’s inmate FAQ directs users to the committing agency shown in the inmate record. For example, a Davenport Police booking should be followed through Davenport Police records if you need the police report rather than only jail status.
Scott County initial appearance
Scott County says new arrests facing Iowa state charges generally appear before a judge within 24 hours of booking. The county currently lists regular-business-day initial appearances at 8:30 a.m. at the Scott County Courthouse and weekend/state-holiday proceedings at 8:00 a.m. by virtual court. Schedules can change, so confirm the current initial-appearance page before attending.
Scott County Initial Appearance InfoScott County bond payment
For a case where release can be secured by bond, Scott County says cash bond may be posted with cash, credit/debit card or through a bail company. Online or telephone payments require the inmate’s name, date of birth and case number. Cash paid at the jail has no service fee; credit/debit transactions carry service fees. Always check the live inmate record and court status before paying because some records show “no bond” or other release restrictions.
The county lists a $10 minimum flat fee and 8.50% of the amount posted for credit/debit payments, with an additional $3.50 for operator-assisted telephone transactions. Verify the live county page before payment because third-party processor fees can change.
Scott County visitation
The jail currently lists public visitation on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., plus Sunday and certain holidays that fall on those days from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Visits use video visitation. The inmate must place the visitor on the approved list, and visits generally must be scheduled at least 24 hours but no more than seven days in advance.
Scott County says each inmate may have up to two one-hour visits per week, with up to three people including children in each visit. Adult visitors and visitors age 13+ are subject to identification requirements; visitor approval also includes a background check. Read the live rules before traveling because facility security rules can change.
Scott County Visitation RulesMail, commissary and inmate funds in Scott County
Personal mail goes through the U.S. Postal Service to the inmate at Scott County Jail, 400 W. 4th Street, Davenport, IA 52801. The county says personal mail is photocopied for delivery to the inmate; special restrictions apply to photographs, cards, packages and envelope markings.
Scott County Mail RulesCommissary / funds
Scott County allows deposits through its listed online inmate-canteen service, a cash kiosk in the visitation lobby or money order by mail. Third-party service fees can apply.
Scott County Inmate AccountsScott County warrants are a separate search
The Scott County warrant page is not the same as the jail roster. The county says its public warrant dataset covers possibly active warrants issued from 18 months ago through seven days ago, plus disposed/served warrants within the last 30 days. It also warns that warrants must be confirmed by authorized law enforcement and that users should not attempt to apprehend anyone.
Scott County Warrant SearchScott County Sheriff’s records and local background check
The Sheriff’s Records and Reports section handles certain accident/incident reports and offers a Scott County Sheriff’s Office-only criminal background check. The local background check is currently listed at $5 with current photo identification and does not include juvenile records, traffic records, records from other agencies or court disposition information.
For paper accident/incident reports, Scott County lists no charge for involved parties; attorneys, insurance companies and other requesters are currently listed at $5 plus $0.10 per page after the first 25 pages. Verify the current county fee schedule before requesting.

Custody alerts: IowaVINE
Iowa DOC describes IowaVINE as an automated notification network for Iowa jails and state corrections. It can provide custody-status information and notifications to victims and other concerned users. Scott County inmate detail pages may also link directly to VINE registration.
IowaVINE phone: 1-888-742-8463.
Iowa VINE InformationIllinois-side QC mugshots: Rock Island County booking and jail records
The Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office states that its Correctional Center provides central booking for all arrestees in Rock Island County and uses computerized mug-shot and digitized fingerprint systems. This makes the county’s inmate route the correct first stop for many Rock Island, Moline and East Moline custody searches.
Official inmate listings
Use the county’s Inmate Listings route first. If the roster is temporarily unavailable, use the Sheriff’s or jail contact number instead of relying on an old copied roster.
Rock Island County Inmate ListingsCorrectional Center contact
The county directory lists 309-558-3436 or 309-558-3455 for jail questions such as visitation hours, release questions and a person in custody. The Correctional Center’s general line is listed as 309-558-3425.
Illinois release decisions: do not rely on old cash-bail language
Current Illinois cases use a pretrial release/detention framework rather than the old monetary-bail system. Rock Island County’s inmate-services page still contains legacy “bond payment” wording, so do not assume that an old bond instruction applies to a new arrest. Check the current court record or jail guidance for the specific case.
Rock Island County visitation
The county’s Inmate Services page says each inmate initially receives a visitor-registration form and may list five visitors, not counting minors. Adults must present valid photo identification; minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. No more than four visitors, including minors, may be in the visitation area at one time, and visits are listed as 30 minutes.
Visitation times depend on the inmate’s housing block. The county specifically tells visitors to call 309-558-3455 to verify the date and time for the inmate’s cell block before visiting.
Rock Island County Inmate ServicesRock Island County commissary
The county states that commissary slips and account funds must be submitted by the stated weekly cutoff and that friends/family may purchase approved packages through the jail’s listed provider. Because vendor arrangements can change, use the live Inmate Services page before paying.
Rock Island County inmate mail: verify the address before sending
The county’s Inmate Mail page and Electronic Inmate Mail FAQ do not presently display the same off-site scanning address. Because using the wrong address could delay or return mail, verify the current personal-mail address on the live county page or call the jail before sending. Legal mail and money orders are treated differently and should follow the county’s direct-facility instructions.
Rock Island County Sheriff’s records / FOIA
When you need a Sheriff’s Office record rather than custody status, use the county FOIA directory. It currently lists the Sheriff’s investigations/records contact at 309-558-3414 and [email protected]. Describe the incident date, person, location, report number and record type as precisely as possible.
Rock Island County FOIA DirectoryRock Island County Sheriff’s Office
Rock Island County warrant questions
The county directory lists the Sheriff’s Office at 309-558-3424 for warrant checks. A warrant question is separate from an inmate search; a person can have a warrant without being in county custody.
Check the court record after a QC arrest
A jail record answers custody questions. A court docket is better for filed charges, hearings, court orders and disposition. Booking charges can change after the prosecutor and court process the case.
Scott County: Iowa Courts Online
Iowa Courts Online provides public docket information. Public case documents can also be reviewed through courthouse public-access resources where available.
Rock Island County Circuit Clerk
The Circuit Clerk says its online case search is free and can return case numbers, party names, record-sheet entries and other case information. Public case documents can be viewed at the Clerk’s public-access terminal.
Rock Island County standard and certified court copies
The Circuit Clerk accepts email requests for standard and certified copies at [email protected]. The Clerk asks requesters to include as much identifying information as possible, such as the case number, party names, approximate year and case type.
Standard copies can be emailed. Certified copies cannot be emailed because the Clerk uses a raised seal; they must be picked up or mailed. Copy, certification and mailing fees can apply, so check the current fee page before ordering.
Police and incident reports: use the agency that created the record
County jail systems do not replace city police records. If the inmate record identifies Davenport Police, Bettendorf Police, Moline Police, East Moline Police or another agency as the committing/arresting agency, use that agency for the incident report.
Davenport Police public records
Davenport Police accepts requests for public records including accident reports, police reports, background checks and crime statistics. The department currently lists report/arrest-affidavit research time at $48 per hour, rounded to the nearest half-hour, and local Davenport-only background checks at the same hourly rate.
Moline Police FOIA
Moline directs police-report and police-record requests through its police FOIA process. The city says noncommercial FOIA requests generally receive a written response within five business days, with certain extensions allowed by law.
East Moline Police reports
East Moline Police currently lists police reports at $5 and says ongoing-investigation reports are unavailable until the case is closed. Redacted reports can be requested through FOIA; complete police reports require a court-ordered subpoena.
Bettendorf arrest-report route
Scott County’s inmate FAQ currently lists Bettendorf Police as a committing agency and provides 563-344-4015 as the department contact. If a Scott County booking identifies Bettendorf Police, use the city’s current police/records instructions for the report rather than requesting it from the jail roster.
Include the incident date, approximate time, location, subject name, report/case number if known and the exact record type you need. This is more useful than simply requesting “all arrest information.”
Older or statewide criminal records use different systems
A county jail roster is designed for custody and recent booking information. It is not a complete statewide criminal-history database.
Iowa statewide criminal-history check
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation currently charges $15 per last name. A request needs at least the subject’s first name, last name and exact date of birth. DCI accepts online, mail, fax, email and in-person requests; it does not accept criminal-history requests by phone.
The official page currently lists an estimated online processing time of 1-3 days depending on volume and staffing. Without a signed release, certain arrests more than 18 months old that have no final disposition are not released to non-law-enforcement requesters.
Iowa DCI Criminal HistoryIllinois UCIA conviction-history inquiry
Illinois’ Uniform Conviction Information Act process is a statewide source for conviction information maintained by the Illinois State Police. It is not a live Rock Island County booking feed.
The current ISP fee schedule lists name-based UCIA inquiries at $16 for manual/paper processing or $10 electronically. Check the live ISP instructions before payment because submission systems and fees can change.
Illinois State Police Criminal HistoryIf the person moved from county jail to state corrections
Iowa Department of Corrections
Use Iowa DOC offender search when the person has moved into Iowa state correctional custody or supervision. County jail absence does not necessarily mean the person has no active correctional status.
Iowa DOC Offender ResourcesIllinois Department of Corrections
Use the Illinois IDOC Individual in Custody Search for state-prison custody. IDOC may publicly provide items such as IDOC number, current location/status, admission/release dates and sentencing information.
Illinois IDOC Offender SearchCustody notifications for victims and concerned users
IowaVINE
Iowa DOC says IowaVINE can provide custody and criminal-case notification information for Iowa jail and correctional records. Registering with VINE is separate from formal victim registration with Iowa DOC or the Board of Parole.
Illinois VINE / victim services
Illinois IDOC and the Prisoner Review Board provide victim-notification resources, including VINE and post-conviction notification services. Formal victim-registration requirements are separate from simply searching a jail or offender database.
Illinois Victim ServicesHow to read a QC booking record correctly
Booking date
The intake date identifies the custody event. It is not a conviction date.
Booking number
A jail-specific identifier can help staff locate the correct intake event when names are similar.
Committing agency
This helps identify which police/sheriff agency to contact for an arrest or incident report.
Charge wording
Booking charge descriptions may change after prosecutor review or court filing. Check the docket.
Custody/release
Custody status can change quickly after first appearance, release order, transfer or sentence.
Detainer / hold
A hold can involve another agency or jurisdiction and may affect release even if another charge changes.
Bond information
On the Iowa side, a jail record may show bond type and amount. On the Illinois side, current pretrial release does not use cash bail.
Mugshot
A photo can help identify a booking record but does not establish guilt or explain the final case result.
Case number
When present, this is usually the strongest bridge from the booking record to the court docket.
No QC mugshot or booking result? Use this troubleshooting path
| Problem | Possible explanation | What to do next |
|---|---|---|
| Recent Scott County arrest not listed | Booking may still be processing, spelling may differ, or the person may be held elsewhere. | Search last name only, check the committing agency and recheck the roster later. |
| Old Scott County booking disappeared | Released people remain in the public roster only for the county’s stated seven-day period. | Move to Iowa Courts Online, police records or Iowa DCI depending on the question. |
| Rock Island inmate listing is temporarily unavailable | County portal or vendor service may be unavailable. | Use the official Sheriff’s/jail contact numbers rather than a copied third-party roster. |
| Name matches but age/date does not | Likely a different person with the same or similar name. | Compare booking date, DOB/age, agency, city and case number before relying on the result. |
| Jail charge differs from court charge | Initial booking language may change after review. | Use the court docket for the filed case and current legal status. |
| No result in Scott or Rock Island County | The arrest may have occurred in another county in the broader QC region. | Identify the incident city, arresting agency and county before searching again. |
| Person was transferred | They may have moved to another county, state corrections, federal custody or another agency. | Check the court docket, detainer information and appropriate state/federal locator. |
| Mugshot is missing but booking appears | The official system may not display a photo for that record. | Use the booking identifiers and court record instead of assuming the arrest did not occur. |
Wrong, outdated, sealed or expunged record: start with the record owner
A private mugshot website cannot correct the underlying official jail, police or court record. Start with the agency that owns the record.
| Problem | Start here | Useful identifiers |
|---|---|---|
| Wrong Scott County jail detail | Scott County Sheriff’s Office / jail | Name, booking number, booking date, exact incorrect field |
| Wrong Rock Island custody detail | Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office / Correctional Center | Name, inmate record, date and exact disputed field |
| Police-report error | Agency that created the report | Report number, date, location and disputed detail |
| Court outcome missing/wrong | Scott County Clerk of Court or Rock Island Circuit Clerk | Case number, party name and docket entry |
| Iowa criminal-history error | Iowa DCI | Details of the disputed state record; identity verification may be required |
| Illinois criminal-history challenge | Illinois State Police Access and Review / Record Challenge | Follow ISP’s fingerprint-based review process |
Expungement and sealing are different in Iowa and Illinois
Iowa expungement forms
Iowa Courts provides specific expungement forms, including applications under Iowa Code chapter 901C for eligible acquittals/dismissals and certain misdemeanor records. Eligibility is record-specific; not every arrest or conviction can be expunged.
Iowa Expungement FormsIllinois expungement and sealing
Illinois Courts publishes approved statewide forms for requesting expungement and/or sealing. Eligibility depends on the record and disposition, so use the official instructions or obtain legal advice rather than relying on a private removal service.
Illinois Expungement & Sealing FormsResponsible use of QC arrest and mugshot information
This is an independent public-record navigation guide. It does not host mugshots, operate a jail database, perform background checks, act as a consumer reporting agency, provide legal advice or represent any sheriff, police department, jail or court.
Do not use a booking photo or arrest entry to harass, threaten, stalk, dox or discriminate against someone. Do not treat an arrest as a conviction. Employment, housing, credit, insurance and similar decisions may be governed by separate federal or state laws and should not be based on a casual mugshot search.
QC Mugshots FAQs
What does “QC mugshots” mean?
QC usually refers to the Quad Cities in Iowa and Illinois. For the five core cities, Davenport and Bettendorf are on the Iowa side; Rock Island, Moline and East Moline are on the Illinois side.
Where do I search Davenport or Bettendorf mugshots?
Start with the official Scott County Sheriff inmate listing. It covers current Scott County Jail custody and people released within the last seven days.
Where do I search Rock Island, Moline or East Moline bookings?
Start with the official Rock Island County Sheriff’s Inmate Listings route. The county Correctional Center handles central booking for Rock Island County arrestees.
How often does Scott County update its inmate listing?
Scott County states that the inmate listing is updated every ten minutes. Custody status can still change between checks, so verify again before taking action.
Why did an older Scott County booking disappear?
Scott County’s public inmate listing includes current custody and people released within the last seven days. For older records, use court records, the arresting agency or statewide criminal-history resources depending on what you need.
Is a QC mugshot proof that someone was convicted?
No. A mugshot or booking record documents an arrest/custody event. It does not establish guilt or show the final court outcome.
How do I check the court case after a QC arrest?
Use Iowa Courts Online for Scott County cases. Use the Rock Island County Circuit Clerk’s case-search resources for Rock Island County cases. Search by case number when available.
Can I pay cash bail for a new Rock Island County case?
Illinois abolished cash bail for current pretrial decisions beginning September 18, 2023. Current cases use pretrial release/detention rules, so check the court record or current jail instructions rather than relying on old bond-payment language.
How do I request a QC police report?
Contact the agency that created the report. Scott County inmate records identify the committing agency. Davenport, Moline, East Moline and other departments use their own records or public-record/FOIA procedures.
What should I do if the person is no longer in county jail?
Check the court docket first. If the person received a state sentence or was transferred into state corrections, use Iowa DOC or Illinois IDOC offender search. If another agency placed a hold or detainer, the jail/court record may identify that jurisdiction.
