Search Brevard County Inmates, Mugshots and Booking Records
For a Brevard County arrest or jail booking, start with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Arrest Inquiry. The official inmate portal lets you search by booking date range, last name, first name, Subject Number or Booking Number.
Records Search
Court, Criminal, Marriage, Divorce, Property
The Sheriff warns that inmate information can change quickly and that an arrest does not mean a person has been convicted. Use the jail record for booking and custody information, then move to the Brevard Clerk’s court system when you need the later criminal case or disposition.
Which Brevard County Record Answers Your Question?
“Brevard County jail inmate mugshots” combines several different record needs. The Sheriff’s inmate portal is the correct starting point for booking and custody research, while a formal Sheriff record, court file, statewide criminal history and Florida prison record answer different questions.
Need a Brevard County jail record?
Use the BCSO Arrest Inquiry and official inmate search. Search by name, date range, Subject Number or Booking Number.
Open BCSO Inmate Search →Need documentation rather than the online listing?
BCSO says the inmate database is not a substitute for a Chapter 119 public-records request. Use the Sheriff’s official records process when a formal record is required.
BCSO Public Records →Need to know what happened after arrest?
Use the Brevard Electronic Court Application, or BECA, for public court-record access. The Clerk maintains felony and misdemeanor court records.
Brevard Court Case Search →Need statewide Florida criminal history?
FDLE is Florida’s central repository for criminal-history information. Its statewide search is different from a Brevard jail booking lookup.
FDLE Florida Checks →Was the person transferred to Florida DOC?
Once a person enters Florida state-prison custody or state supervision, use the Florida Department of Corrections offender system rather than the county jail search.
Florida Department of Corrections →Need the underlying arrest report?
A booking record is not necessarily the same document as the arresting agency’s incident or arrest report. Request that report from the agency that created it.
How to Search the Brevard County Jail Roster and Bookings
The official inmate portal gives users several search routes. Use the strongest information you already have rather than guessing at a person’s identity from a same-name result.
Open the official BCSO inmate portal
The Sheriff’s Arrest Inquiry page links directly to inmatesearch.brevardsheriff.org. Use that government portal instead of starting with a republished mugshot page.
Choose a name, date or identifier search
The form provides From Date, To Date, Last Name, First Name, Subject Number and Booking Number fields. You do not need to force every field into one search.
Use Booking Number or Subject Number when available
A specific system identifier is more useful than relying only on a common first and last name. If you have one from an earlier record, use it to narrow your search.
Check the returned booking carefully
Compare available identifying, booking, charge and custody details before assuming that the record belongs to the person you intended to search.
Use the court file for the later result
A jail record reflects the booking and custody stage. Use the Clerk’s criminal case record when the real question is what charge was filed or how the case was later resolved.
Use Brevard County’s Date Fields Instead of Inventing a “Last 24 Hours” Archive
The BCSO inmate search provides From Date and To Date fields. That makes a date-range search possible, but it does not justify describing the system as an official “24-hour,” “7-day” or “30-day mugshot report” unless BCSO itself labels a product that way.
| What you know | Search field to start with | Useful next step |
|---|---|---|
| Approximate booking date | From Date + To Date | Use the narrowest accurate date range rather than scrolling through unrelated bookings. |
| Person’s name | Last Name + optional First Name | Compare returned records carefully when the name is common. |
| Booking Number | Booking Number | Use the specific booking identifier when already known. |
| Subject Number | Subject Number | Use the county system identifier to narrow the record search. |
| Older formal booking record | BCSO Public Records | Request the formal record instead of depending only on the online database. |
Where Brevard County Inmate Mugshots Fit Into the Search
A mugshot is a booking photograph associated with an arrest and jail-processing event. Do not treat the presence of a photograph as proof of guilt, and do not treat a missing photograph as proof that an arrest never occurred.
Start with the BCSO booking record
Use the official arrest/inmate search to identify the correct person and booking. That gives you the proper county record route before you rely on an image copied elsewhere.
If you need a formal or older record
Use the Sheriff’s public-records process. BCSO specifically states that the online inmate database should not be used in place of filing a Florida public-records request.
What a Brevard County Jail Record Can and Cannot Tell You
A jail database can help identify a custody event, but it is not a complete criminal-case history. Separate the booking stage from the later prosecution and court disposition.
| Booking information | What it helps answer | What it does not prove by itself |
|---|---|---|
| Booking identifier | Helps distinguish a particular intake record. | The later criminal-case disposition. |
| Booking date | When the jail intake associated with the record occurred. | That a person was convicted. |
| Charge information | The charge information associated with the booking at that stage. | That prosecutors later filed exactly the same charge. |
| Bond information | The bond information carried by the jail record when available. | A guarantee about release timing or later judicial action. |
| Custody status | Whether the system currently identifies the person within county jail custody. | Whether the person was acquitted, convicted, dismissed or otherwise resolved in court. |
| Booking photograph | Identifies the image associated with the booking when publicly available. | Guilt or final case outcome. |
How to Request a Brevard County Sheriff Record
BCSO maintains a separate public-records process for people who need a record beyond the informational online inmate database. The Sheriff advises that requests require research and review for statutory exemptions and therefore cannot be completed the same day as requested.
Local booking-record check
BCSO currently lists a fee of $2 per last-name inquiry for a local record check of people booked into the Brevard County Jail.
Report reproduction fees
For case reports of 10 pages or more, the Sheriff currently lists $0.15 per single-sided copy and $0.20 per double-sided copy. Mailed requests require a self-addressed stamped envelope.
Additional service charges
BCSO says employee labor may be charged when a request takes 15 minutes or more to fulfill. Special technology or extensive research can also create additional costs, and an advance deposit may be required.
Where to Check Bond for a Brevard County Inmate
The Jail Complex provides an inmate-information and bonds contact, while BCSO’s Jail FAQ explains the county’s current payment routes. Use current jail or court information rather than an old third-party bond listing.
Jail bond information
BCSO lists the Jail Complex main number as 321-690-1500. For inmate information and bonds, call that number and use extension 0.
Paying the full bond amount
BCSO says the full bond may be paid by cashier’s check, certified check or money order payable to the Brevard County Clerk of Courts. Its FAQ also lists TouchPay for cash or credit-card payments.
Use Brevard Court Records for the Criminal Case and Disposition
The Brevard County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller maintains felony, misdemeanor and criminal-traffic court records. Its Brevard Electronic Court Application, or BECA, provides online access to public court information subject to court-access rules.
BECA General Public Court Records Search
The Clerk provides a General Public Court Records Search after users accept the online disclaimer. Use this route when you need to move from a booking record to the related criminal court case.
Why the court record matters
The Circuit Court handles Florida felony cases, while the County Court handles misdemeanors and criminal traffic matters in Brevard County. The later court file is the better source for filed charges and disposition.
Brevard County Jail Complex Information
The Brevard County Jail Complex is owned and maintained by Brevard County and operated by the Sheriff. BCSO says the complex routinely houses more than 1,600 inmates and has a rated capacity of 1,849 beds across its main jail and additional housing facilities.

Visitation, Phone Calls and Inmate Mail
Once you confirm that someone is in Brevard County custody, communication rules become more useful than continuing to search mugshot pages. Check the Sheriff’s current jail instructions before creating an account, mailing anything or traveling to the facility.
Confirm the current visit process
BCSO lists visitation appointments at 321-690-1518. Use the current Jail Visitation page for scheduling and visitor requirements before arriving.
Jail visitation information →Inmate telephone service
BCSO currently identifies Smart Communications as the Jail Complex inmate telephone provider. The Sheriff’s page lists the call rate as $0.16 plus tax per minute and a two-hour weekly limit.
Do not mail directly to Camp Road
BCSO says inmate personal mail must be routed through Smart Communications and must clearly include the inmate’s name and ID number.

Brevard County Also Livestreams Certain Jail Court Proceedings
The courtroom inside the Jail Complex has security-related public-access limitations. BCSO provides a livestream for many proceedings held there, although the presiding judge can temporarily stop audio or video when exempt information must be protected.
Initial proceedings
BCSO currently publishes initial-proceeding stream times of 1:15 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:30 a.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
Plea Court
The current BCSO schedule lists Plea Court at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesdays. Juvenile proceedings or judicial decisions can delay or interrupt a public stream.
When You Need a Florida-Wide Record Instead
A Brevard County booking search is local. Statewide Florida criminal history and state-prison custody are maintained by different agencies and should not be mixed into the county jail search.
Florida criminal-history search
FDLE’s Criminal Justice Information Services division is Florida’s central criminal-history repository. The current fee for a public Florida criminal-history request is $24.
Florida Criminal History Record Check →Florida prison or supervision
If the person moved from county jail into Florida state custody or supervision, use Florida Department of Corrections resources rather than expecting the Brevard jail roster to remain the current source.
Florida Department of Corrections →FDLE is not the booking-photo agency
FDLE tells users that jail mugshots are not readily available through FDLE and directs requests to the booking agency. For a Brevard booking, start locally with BCSO.
FDLE mugshot guidance →Brevard County Inmate Search Troubleshooting
A missing or confusing result does not automatically establish that an arrest never occurred. Identify which part of the process you are trying to verify and move to the appropriate official record.
| Problem | Possible explanation | What to do next |
|---|---|---|
| No result by name | The name may differ, the booking may fall outside the date range you used, or the person may not be in the Brevard system. | Try a different accurate field combination or a known Booking/Subject Number. |
| Information looks outdated | BCSO itself warns that inmate information changes quickly. | Call the Jail Complex when current custody or bond is time sensitive. |
| Mugshot is missing | A booking record and a publicly displayed photograph are not necessarily the same thing. | Use BCSO’s formal public-records route when you need a specific record. |
| Person has been released | The jail database may no longer be the best source for what happened afterward. | Search BECA court records and request the arresting agency’s report when necessary. |
| Need final charge or disposition | The booking charge describes an earlier stage. | Use the Brevard Clerk’s criminal court record. |
| Possible transfer to state prison | The person may have moved beyond county-jail custody. | Use Florida Department of Corrections resources. |
| Need formal proof of local booking history | The online database is informational. | Use the Sheriff’s Public Records Request process. |

A Brevard County Mugshot or Booking Is Not Proof of Guilt
BCSO’s own inmate-search disclaimer states that an arrest does not mean an inmate has been convicted and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in court. That distinction should follow the record wherever it is discussed.
For consequential or reputational use, verify the person carefully and move beyond the booking to the current court record. Charges can be amended, declined, dismissed or resolved differently from the original jail entry.
