Find TGK inmate mugshots, booking details and current Miami-Dade jail custody
If you are looking for a person booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, start with Miami-Dade’s official Inmate In-Custody Search. The county search can show the person’s current facility, charges, bond amount, jail number, booking date and time, and a mugshot when available. For an older jail record, arrest report or final criminal case result, use the separate official record source that maintains that information.

What does “TGK Miami” mean?
TGK is the common abbreviation for Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, a Miami-Dade County jail facility operated by the Miami-Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation Department. It is not a Florida state prison and is not operated by the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
TGK performs an important system-wide role in Miami-Dade corrections. County materials identify it as an intake and release center, and Miami-Dade’s current inmate-release guidance says people leaving county jail are released from TGK.
How to search TGK Miami mugshots and current bookings
Open the official Miami-Dade Inmate Search
Use Miami-Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation’s own search instead of a copied mugshot directory. The live search is designed for people who are currently in Miami-Dade custody.
Enter the person’s last name
The official search requires at least three characters. You can add the first name to narrow results. Use the person’s legal name when possible and do not assume that two people with similar names are the same person.
Check the custody location before assuming the person is at TGK
Miami-Dade operates more than one detention facility. The county search displays the current location, so a Miami-Dade booking does not automatically mean the person is presently housed at Turner Guilford Knight.
Use the jail number for court or record follow-up
The inmate search can display a jail number along with charges, bond and booking information. Miami-Dade’s Criminal Justice Online system also supports jail-number searching, making this identifier useful when moving from the jail record to the criminal court case.
What can appear in a Miami-Dade inmate-search result?
Miami-Dade says its Inmate In-Custody Search can display a list of people currently in custody with identifying, booking and jail information. Availability can change as custody information is updated.
Identity and booking fields
- Name.
- Date of birth.
- Race and sex.
- Jail number.
- Booking date.
- Booking time.
Custody and case-related fields
- Current jail location.
- Charges listed in the custody system.
- Bond amount.
- Mugshot when displayed by the county.
These are jail-system fields. They should not be read as a substitute for the later court docket. A booking charge can differ from what is eventually filed, amended or resolved in court.

TGK is an intake and release center for Miami-Dade Corrections
Miami-Dade county materials identify Turner Guilford Knight as a major intake facility within the corrections system. This helps explain why a person may first be associated with TGK and later appear at another Miami-Dade detention facility.
The county’s current release instructions designate TGK as the release center for Miami-Dade inmates. Releases are currently described as taking place between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
How to check bond and release information
Miami-Dade says a person with bondable charges can bond out and directs the public to the inmate information line for current bond amounts. The live inmate search can also show bond information associated with the custody record.
Release can occur through several routes, including posting bond, pretrial release or a court hearing. A listed bond amount therefore does not guarantee that the same amount or release condition remains unchanged.
TGK also handles inmate property pickup
Miami-Dade’s current release guidance says property collected during booking is generally available from the TGK Property Room for up to 30 days. An inmate who is still in custody can authorize a representative to pick up property.
After 30 days, property is stored offsite and arrangements are required. Miami-Dade currently lists 786-263-5355 for those arrangements.
Request Miami-Dade Corrections records separately from arrest reports
Miami-Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation has a Central Records process for records maintained by the corrections department. The county provides an online public-record request system that lets a requester submit and track a request.
MDCR asks for contact information, the subject of the requested record and enough detail to identify the documents. Its instructions also make an important distinction: records about arrests should be requested from the appropriate law-enforcement agency rather than from Corrections.
Current MDCR public-record copy fees
Requests requiring more than 20 minutes of research or processing can carry an additional service charge based on staff labor. MDCR says it will provide an invoice or estimate and can require advance partial payment.

Need the arrest report? Identify the law-enforcement agency first
TGK is a jail. The agency that arrested the person may be the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, Miami Police, Miami Beach Police, another municipal police department, a state agency or another authority.
Request the incident or arrest report from the agency that created it. If the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office handled the incident, its Public Records Center accepts online requests for offense/incident reports and other law-enforcement records.

Use Miami-Dade criminal court records to find what happened after booking
The Miami-Dade Clerk of the Court and Comptroller maintains criminal felony and misdemeanor case information. The Criminal Justice Online system can search using several identifiers, including case number, defendant information and jail number.
This is the correct handoff when the question changes from “was this person booked?” to “what charges were filed and what happened in court?”

Certified criminal record requests
The Clerk currently lists certified copies at $7. When the requester does not know the case year or case number, the Clerk lists an additional $2 search fee for each year and each name searched.
The Clerk also warns that online electronic case access is not itself the official court record. When accuracy or certification matters, obtain the official record from the Clerk.
Use FDLE when you need statewide Florida criminal-history information
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is Florida’s central repository for criminal-history information. Its public criminal-history search is a statewide service and is different from Miami-Dade’s live jail lookup.
FDLE currently lists the public criminal-history request fee at $24. Use this route when the goal is statewide Florida criminal-history information rather than determining whether someone is presently held at TGK or another Miami-Dade detention facility.

Check Florida DOC after transfer to state prison or state supervision
Florida Department of Corrections records cover felony offenders sentenced to state prison or state supervision. FDC specifically distinguishes its records from people whose custody or supervision remains only at the county level.
If a person no longer appears in Miami-Dade’s jail system because the case resulted in a state-prison sentence, use Florida DOC’s Offender Search rather than continuing to search TGK.
Inmate trust deposits require the jail number
Miami-Dade uses inmate trust accounts for funds collected during intake and money deposited later by family or friends. Funds may be used for items such as commissary purchases and self-bonding where applicable.
Miami-Dade says depositors need the inmate’s name and inmate identification number, also called the jail number. Its current TouchPay facility number for Miami-Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation is 233101.
Cash deposits must be made at a lobby kiosk. Online and telephone deposits use the county’s currently designated payment vendor and can involve service charges.
Confirm the inmate’s current facility before planning contact or visitation
Miami-Dade publishes inmate contact and visitation information for TGK, Metro West and Pre-Trial Detention Center. Because the current inmate search identifies the housing facility, check that result first instead of assuming the person remains at TGK.
Messages, photographs and other electronic communications are subject to facility review. Miami-Dade also publishes separate phone-system and professional-visitor instructions.
Why you may not find a TGK Miami mugshot or inmate result
Know which number belongs to which record system
| Identifier | Record system | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| Jail number | Miami-Dade Corrections | Identifying an inmate and connecting custody information with court searching |
| Booking date/time | Corrections booking record | Distinguishing different jail admissions and same-name records |
| Police or Sheriff case number | Arresting law-enforcement agency | Requesting an offense, incident or arrest-related report |
| Court case number | Miami-Dade Clerk | Following filings, hearings, disposition and certified court records |
Verify identity and case outcome before repeating a TGK arrest
A mugshot can remain online after a person’s custody status or court case has changed. Compare the name, date of birth, jail number, booking date and other available identifiers before deciding a record belongs to the person you are researching.
When the outcome matters, leave the jail database and check the court. A booking-stage charge can later be changed, dismissed or resolved differently.
USA-Mugshots.com is an independent informational website. It is not Miami-Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the Miami-Dade Clerk of the Court and Comptroller, FDLE or Florida Department of Corrections.
A mugshot or jail result is also not automatically a complete consumer report. Do not use this page as a substitute for a legally compliant screening process for employment, housing, credit, insurance or another regulated decision.
